Chocoholics is a husband-and-wife team who have spent the past two years establishing their handmade Belgian chocolates business in the small market town of Ossett, West Yorkshire. Only top quality Belgian couverture is used in their home-produced range of chocolates and novelties and only the best quality handmade chocolates are selected from world-renowned artisans like Gudrun, Valentino and Ickyx.
It's a rotten part of the job but everything that is made or sold through Chocoholics is quality-tested by Paddy and Viv to maintain the high standards of excellence they have set for themselves, their business and their customers.
And at just eight stone Viv is living proof that the Belgian chocolate diet can work!
Viv sources ideas and recipes to hand-make some of the Chocoholics' range of chocolates and novelties, while Paddy acts as chief taster - although there is no shortage of volunteers to help!
Chocoholics focuses on the personal touch ... you will find some of the big names here but you will also find the highly-individual, personalised chocolate treat that isn't seen elsewhere. Bespoke chocolates, personalised chocolate bars, handwritten chocolate plaques, limited edition wrappings and individual chocolate pamper hampers are all part of the Chocoholics range.
"We like to be different," says Paddy. "We like to offer something you can't just pick up in the supermarket, something which is high quality and personal. We put a lot of thought into our products and we think that care reflects on our customers - they know they are getting something extra special and so do the people they are buying for."
The range provides something for all tastes, like lusious white chocolate Marc de Champagne truffles, deeply satisfying dark chocolate orange pralines, simple cocoa dusted truffles, sharp passion fruit creams and brandy-filled whole cherries, as well as old fashioned favourites like violet creams, rose creams and peppermint creams, which sit alongside Viv's handmade creations like fruit and nut mendiants, edible gold covered hazelnut creams and mellow cappucino creams.
The couple's attention to quality and detail means that orders for wedding favours are increasing.
"We can provide the right chocolate in the right box, in the right colours to suit your special day," explains Paddy. "We don't tell you what you can have, we ask you what you would like."
